DINE a system for procrastinators

As a business owner, I have struggled with procrastination for as long as I can remember. It seems like no matter how much I love what I do, I always find myself putting off important tasks until the last minute. But as the great Mark Twain once said, “If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.”

With this in mind, I decided to create a system that would help me tackle my procrastination head-on. I call it the DINE system, which stands for Do It Now Everytime. I know every time is actually two words but since I love to dine I couldn’t pass up this acronym so please bear with me.

The basic premise of the DINE system is simple: whenever you have a task that needs to be done, you do it right away, no matter how big or small. Whether it’s writing a blog post, doing the dishes, or sending an important email, you tackle it immediately.

At first, I was skeptical that this system would work. After all, how could something so simple be the solution to a problem that has plagued me for years? But as I started implementing the DINE system into my daily routine, I quickly realized just how effective it could be.

One of the key benefits of the DINE system is that it eliminates the stress and anxiety that comes with procrastination. When you know that you have a task to do, but you keep putting it off, it can weigh heavily on your mind and make it difficult to focus on anything else. But with the DINE system, you simply take care of the task and move on to the next thing. There’s no need to worry about it anymore because it’s already done.

Another benefit of the DINE system is that it helps you build momentum. When you start tackling tasks right away, you begin to develop a habit of getting things done. This can be incredibly empowering and can lead to increased productivity in other areas of your life as well.

Of course, like any system, the DINE system isn’t perfect. There will be times when you simply don’t have the time or energy to do something right away. And that’s okay. The key is to make the DINE system a habit so that you’re more likely to use it when it counts. Warning this system can be used against you when you try to put off some household chores and your significant other then chants DINE, DINE, DINE.

In conclusion, if you’re struggling with procrastination, the DINE system might be just what you need. It’s simple, effective, and can help you get more done in less time. As Mark Twain once said, “The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” So why not give the DINE system a try and start getting ahead today?
